Question: How desperate are the Republicans?

Answer: So desperate they're rallying behind a 14 year old kid.

I don't think it's pathetic that Republicans are supporting a 14 year old. Essentially, this kid is a "Republican Party Prodigy." If he were a prodigy in anything else, it would be completely normal for people to sing the praises. Regardless of anything else, this is a highly articulate, well-informed (although surely informed in a bias manner) fourteen year old kid. That's remarkable in itself. The kid presents a very positive view for the GOP as the *future* of their party. And rightnow, he's looking like a great future. You can't fault them for that, and i think this whole hullaballoo over it is stupid and ridiculous.

How exactly is this kid a positive view for the GOP's future? What exactly is he offering other than old talking points and ad hominem rhetoric? He talks about the legitimacy of Barack Obama's birth certificate. You call that well informed? I think it's great that this kid is interested in politics, even if they're not my own. I really do. But to validate his presence in the realm of politics by saying, in your words, that 'he's looking like a great future' is very suspect. Discounting his age, what makes him worthy of support? Furthermore, what exactly has he said that merits respect, and how is he different than Sarah Palin, or Joe the Plumber, individuals who offered nothing substantive and instead were used as shock and awe figures?
